As a military dependent, Ray Johnson spent part of his youth growing up in North Carolina while his family was stationed at Fort Bragg. In 1995, after his step-fathers retirement from the Army, his family would relocate to Detroit, Michigan were he would get his first taste of the real estate industry. As a teen, Ray assisted his grandfather with managing a growing rental portfolio near Downtown Detroit. At the time, most of the work he did consisted of small tasks; painting, lawn work, cleaning, and running to the local hardware store for supplies. However, these experiences would plant a seed that would continue to grow throughout his young adult life.
After graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy with a BA in Business Administration his love for fine foods and drinks would lead him to begin a career in the restaurant industry. His experiences working in the demanding fine dining industry became the foundation of his customer service mentality.
Years later the seed that was planted as a youth and a sudden decline in the health of his Grandfather would lead him to take on more responsibilities in the family business. He played a leadership role in property management, residential rehab, and managing short term AirBnB rentals in both Michigan and Ontario, Canada. Additionally, Ray would go on to become a licensed Realtor in Michigan and spend five helping Buyers and Sellers navigate a rapidly changing market in Metro Detroit.
Eventually, his love for warm weather and southern hospitality would lead him to return home to Fayetteville in 2020 with his wife, Sharee, who is a Fayetteville native. They are parents to two sons and one daughter, aged 18, 16, and 4.
After becoming a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina, Ray became a member of the Exit Really Preferred team in Raeford, NC.
